Electric water kettle is an offshoot of the Bodum® Ottoni Stainless Steel Stovetop Kettle. It has the same playful post-modernistic look of the stovetop version, and it uses historic modernist symbolism with references to the idioms of old time Mississippi steamboats in an effort to add humor and fun to the "less is more" design set. Electric kettle has a removable scale filter in the spout that retains calcium deposits and prevents water from being tainted, while the kettle can be unplugged to reduce the risk of the unit becoming entangled in the cord. The stainless steel heating element concealed underneath a stainless steel plate maximizes the surface contact between the hot metal and the water, which minimizes energy consumption. Kettle also features auto shut-off and indicator on top which shows the maximum capacity of 51 ounces/1 1/2 liters. 1500 watts. UL listed. Model # 10552-16US.
